Galvanized square and rectangular steel pipes

Tianjin Xinlida Steel Pipe Co., Ltd. has been deeply involved in the steel pipe manufacturing industry for many years, establishing an integrated operation model encompassing domestic production, overseas bases, and global trade. Its products are exported to Southeast Asia, the Middle East, and other overseas regions, boasting complete import and export qualifications and a robust annual production capacity of 50 million tons. Specializing in galvanized square and rectangular steel pipes, the company leverages intelligent production equipment and mature processes to create high-performance, cost-effective profiles, perfectly addressing industry pain points such as cumbersome anti-corrosion treatment, high procurement costs, long delivery cycles, and complex processing. These products come with a pre-galvanized protective layer, eliminating the need for secondary painting for corrosion protection, significantly reducing overall costs compared to traditional pipe materials. Furthermore, a complete range of specifications are readily available, with rapid delivery response, making them suitable for various applications such as greenhouses, curtain walls, railings, and light steel structures. Balancing quality, efficiency, and economy, these pipes are the preferred choice for procurement by engineering, decoration, agriculture, and electromechanical industries both domestically and internationally.

Product Description

Product Basic Definition and Manufacturing Process

Galvanized square and rectangular steel pipes are high-frequency welded galvanized profiles, distinct from conventional hot-dip galvanized square and rectangular pipes. This product uses finished galvanized steel strip as its core raw material and is processed using a proprietary production process. The entire production process eliminates the need for overall hot-dip galvanizing of the finished pipes. Instead, it sequentially undergoes processes such as uncoiling and leveling of the galvanized steel strip, continuous cold bending and roll forming, high-frequency resistance welding sealing, removal of burrs from the inner weld seam, length sawing, and pipe end trimming, culminating in final inspection and packaging. The base material itself has a galvanized layer, ensuring a complete protective layer for the formed pipe. The entire production process is highly automated and streamlined. Compared to the traditional process of hot-dip galvanizing black billet square pipes, this process significantly improves production efficiency, controls product quality from the source, and makes the pipes more competitively priced, representing the mainstream production solution for lightweight galvanized profiles.

Product Specifications

• Cross-section: Square tube 10×10mm~100×100mm; Rectangular tube 20×30mm~50×100mm (Smaller sizes are more common for galvanized strip; larger sizes are often hot-dip galvanized)

• Wall thickness: 0.7mm~4.0mm (Thinner walls are more common; 0.7–2.5mm is frequently used in the market)

• Length: Standard 6m/piece, 4m, 9m, 12m optional, can be cut to shorter lengths; short lengths account for ≤5% of the total supply

• Zinc coating: National standard ≥60g/㎡, market standard 60–120g/㎡, premium 80g and above, silver-gray galvanized finish

• Material: Q195 (thin-walled decorative, conduit), Q235B (greenhouse, fence, lightweight frame), very rarely Q355B (thickened custom-made)

Core Competitive Advantages of the Product

Using galvanized rectangular steel pipes offers customers multiple practical benefits. First, the built-in galvanized protective layer relies on the sacrificial anode principle of zinc for rust prevention. It can remain rust-free for 8-15 years indoors and 5-10 years outdoors, completely eliminating the need for subsequent painting and anti-corrosion maintenance. Second, it offers excellent cost-effectiveness. Leveraging advantages in raw materials and processes, production costs are 15%-30% lower than painted black pipes or hot-dip galvanized pipes. Ample stock ensures rapid delivery, effectively shortening project timelines. Third, it boasts excellent processing performance. The pipe wall thickness is uniform, with dimensional tolerances controlled within ±5% of the wall thickness. It supports various secondary processing methods such as cutting, drilling, bending, and simple welding, adapting to different construction needs. Fourth, it has a smooth and clean appearance, with no uncoated areas, allowing for direct outdoor use. It combines practicality and aesthetics, comprehensively meeting various lightweight construction requirements.

Applicable Scenarios and Industry Applications

Galvanized square and rectangular steel pipes have a wide range of applications, meeting the actual material needs of various industries. Agriculture is the largest application market for this product, widely used in greenhouse frames, livestock sheds, and columns and beams for fruit and vegetable greenhouses. Lightweight, durable, and corrosion-resistant, they are well-suited for outdoor field environments. In the building decoration field, they are often used as sub-frames for glass curtain walls, interior steel structure partitions, community fences, wrought iron door frames, and warehouse racking frames, combining aesthetics and practicality. In the electromechanical industry, they are ideal materials for wire and cable conduits, lightweight equipment racks, and chassis frames. They are also widely used in municipal light industry scenarios, creating simple billboard supports, garden wrought iron supports, and other facilities. The product is specifically designed for lightweight projects with standard corrosion resistance levels, with corresponding materials and specifications categorized according to different scenarios, precisely meeting the procurement and construction requirements of various industries.

Product Comparison and Service Guarantee

Comparing galvanized rectangular steel pipes with traditional hot-dip galvanized rectangular steel pipes, the two have different focuses in terms of process, cost, and performance. Hot-dip galvanized pipes are made by immersing the entire black billet in zinc after forming, achieving a zinc layer of up to 275g/㎡, resulting in stronger corrosion resistance, but with a longer production cycle and higher price. Galvanized rectangular steel pipes, on the other hand, rely on pre-galvanized raw materials, resulting in higher production efficiency, lower pricing, and a significant overall cost advantage, making them suitable for most conventional working conditions. Leveraging our company's 50 million-ton annual production capacity, intelligent production lines, and global supply system, we can provide stable, large-volume supply with ample stock, eliminating long waiting times. Furthermore, based on our mature cross-border trade experience, we can provide one-stop procurement services for domestic and overseas customers, following up on the entire process from specification customization, production and processing to logistics coordination. Our professional team controls every step, and with standardized products and attentive service, we have won long-term cooperation with numerous domestic and international buyers, making us a trustworthy long-term supplier.

FAQ

Q1: How to choose between galvanized and hot-dip galvanized square tubing?

A: For dry indoor applications, greenhouses, shelving, and limited budgets: galvanized square tubing; for open-air coastal applications, humid chemical environments, and heavy-duty applications: black square tubing followed by overall hot-dip galvanizing.

Q2: How to deal with rust after welding galvanized tubing?

A: If the zinc layer on the weld seam peels off at high temperatures, grind it after welding and repair it with a zinc-rich primer + silver paint.

Q3: What are the standard specifications in stock?

A: Square tubing: 20×20, 30×30, 40×40, 50×50; Rectangular tubing: 20×40, 30×50, 40×60 (wall thickness 1.2/1.5/2.0mm are standard).

Q4: Can you customize special lengths and thicker wall thicknesses?

A: Wall thickness > 4mm is not standardly produced, but can be customized and then hot-dip galvanized; length can be cut as needed, with a processing fee for cut-to-size parts.

Q5: How to prevent rust during storage?

A: Store in a rainproof manner, raise it off the ground, repair any damaged zinc coating promptly, and avoid prolonged immersion in water.
